Which one do I need?
Not sure which to get? The Exness Trade app (Android and iOS) is the simplest way to trade on a phone. On a computer, MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 installs on Windows and macOS for advanced charting, while the Exness Terminal runs in any browser with nothing to download. Google Play and the App Store are the official app sources; an APK from a third-party site such as apkpure is not recommended for a financial app.

Someone reporting that the download did not work is describing an outcome, not a cause. The outcome looks identical in all three cases: nothing usable on the screen. What differs is how far the sequence travelled before it stopped, and that one detail decides which side owns the problem and which side can do nothing whatever about it.
Stopping before anything arrives is a device-side fault. Arriving and then refusing the sign-in is an account-side fault. Signing in cleanly and showing a zero balance is not a fault at all: it is the funding side reporting that nothing has reached it yet. Repeating the download can only ever move the first of the three.
Naming the side is useful mainly for what it rules out. A repeated download changes a device-side outcome and nothing else; against a refused sign-in or a zero balance it is a no-op, and the minutes spent on it are the reason a five-minute problem turns into a long evening.
What the device side actually owns
The device side owns everything up to the moment a working program exists locally: reaching the source, completing the transfer, unpacking it, and opening the first window. A failure inside that span shows up immediately and repeats in the same place — the same progress point, the same wording, the same second.
Repeatability is the marker. A device-side fault is boring: it happens every time, in the same way, and it stops the moment one thing on that machine changes. A fault that appears once, goes away, and returns hours later is almost never device-side, whatever it looked like when it happened.
Two symptoms are routinely misfiled here. A program that opens and then cannot reach a server is already past the device stage. So is a window that opens and asks for credentials — reaching a credential prompt is proof that both the transfer and the install finished.
Where the boundary between account and funding sits
The account side owns identity: the credentials, the platform those credentials belong to, and the server the platform is pointed at. A refusal here is specific and it is the same refusal on every machine, which is exactly the test — a fault that follows you from a phone to a laptop is not a property of either machine.
The funding side owns the balance line and nothing else on this page. It never produces an error, because there is nothing there to fail: the platform is installed, the sign-in worked, and the number is honest. A zero balance is a correct answer to a question nobody has asked yet.
Mixing those two produces the longest detours. Reinstalling because a balance reads zero, or downloading again because a server is unreachable, are the two most frequent wrong moves after a first install, and both leave the actual fault exactly where it was.
Sort a download complaint in five moves
- Write down the last thing that actually happened, not the first thing that failed — the final screen you saw decides everything that follows.
- If nothing reached the machine at all, keep the problem on the device side and change one variable — source, connection or storage location — before repeating anything.
- If a program exists and opens, stop touching the file. Nothing downstream of an opened window is repaired by transferring it a second time.
- If credentials are refused, reproduce the same refusal on a second device. A refusal that travels is account-side; a refusal that stays behind belongs to the machine you left.
- If the sign-in succeeds and the balance reads zero, record that as a funding-side state rather than a fault, and leave the platform alone.
The order matters more than the moves: each step is only meaningful once the one above it has been answered.
